"By all the Gods... Are you deaf? Just call me Gwen."
Guinevere is queen of a small kingdom, Alendi, far to the north; much of her homeland is constantly covered in snow and frost except during the late spring and summer months. Most of Alendi worships the Sun and Earth Deities, Aine and Gaea, as it is them who warms their homes and their land when needed.
Gwen, however, does not put much stock in the Deities; it is more accurate to say that she is not wholly convinced they even exist, since they are not something she has ever seen with her own eyes - always a realist. Her people and her country are more important to her than an entity she can't be sure exists. While she is not convinced the Deities live, she never begrudges someone their religion and prefers to keep out of it. She is a scholar at heart, preferring to take to a good book in her study rather than dealing with the piles of paperwork she likely has; she is sometimes forgetful, and a bit of a procrastinator, leaving said paperwork sit until it absolutely must be done. Gwen is firm, never accepting flack or disrespect from anyone; she is often unyielding on her opinions and has quite a stubborn streak. Despite this, she never hesitates to take responsibility for when she is wrong; she shoulders this well, and governs her people the best way she can. She hides her insecurities behind a mask, and she doubts herself and her choices often; there are very, very few people she can turn to for advice or a listening ear, as most of those around her simply want to use her for her wealth, power, or some combination thereof. She has little patience for those types of people, and is liable to bite their head off (or, more likely, shoot ice at them) after she bottles her frustrations up too much. Gwen is kind, almost to a fault, and is constantly doing some sort of charity work (as long as it doesn't involve paperwork). She has a soft spot for kids and sweets and festivals, oftentimes covering all three at once. |
